Carbon fiber fabrics can be classified in two ways. One method is based on weave density and type: there are classic woven fabrics (e.g., 1K, 3K, 12K) and unidirectional (UD) fabrics, which are not woven.
The other classification criterion is whether the carbon fiber fabric is high-modulus, high-strength, or highly resilient. The former are very stiff and lightweight, while the latter are extremely resilient and more flexible. It is impossible to build a lightweight, stiff frame suitable for high-level racing without predominantly using the former type! Conversely, frame manufacturing could not exist without the latter.

The Wilier Urta SLR is a high-end, full-suspension XCO/XCM MTB featuring 29-inch wheels and a frame constructed from HUS-MOD + High Impact Carbon Weave ultra-high-modulus carbon.
Key features include an integrated shock absorption system, the BOOST standard, a mud protector, and unique integrated cable routing. It boasts an entirely new geometry characterized by a longer reach and a slacker head tube angle. It also incorporates an integrated rear shock and a flat-mount brake interface.
