1, WHEN IS IT WORTHY TO ASK FOR DIETARY ADVICE OR CONSULT WITH A DIETICIAN?

Nowadays, we come across more and more often contradictory dietary recommendations advertised by inappropriate specialists. In possession of unfounded information and misconceptions, many people start different "fad diets", many also end up in a dead end, while others sooner or later face some kind of digestive disorder. How much better it would be to prevent dietary mistakes and ask a competent dietician for dietary advice.

In the optimal case, everyone should discuss their diet with a dietician at least once for preventive purposes. In case of illness, a properly prepared diet helps to heal, eliminate complaints, prevent deterioration of the condition, or delay the development of complications. Certain diseases can only be treated with diet.

2, DIETARY ADVICE MAY BE USEFUL:

  • At certain ages, e.g. supplementary feeding during infancy, for toddlers (1-3 years old), children and adolescents (7-10, 11-14 and 15-18 years old), active adults (19-69 years old) and the elderly (over 69 years old), since the various different ages are characterized by different characteristics and nutritional requirements, depending on the age, different problems related to eating may occur.
  • Life situations also affect nutrition, e.g. during pregnancy, breastfeeding, exam period and other stressful periods, or the diet of recreational or active athletes also differs from the general recommendations.
  • Short- or long-term diets, e.g. with diarrhea, constipation, convalescence, before/after surgery, or in case of overweight, obesity, malnutrition
  • Preventive diets, e.g. to prevent osteoporosis, strengthen the immune system, and control body weight.
  • For chronic diseases, e.g. Diets related to cardiovascular, allergic, digestive system diseases, diabetes, alleviating symptoms, prolonging the symptom-free period, and delaying the development of complications.
  • For those who follow increasingly popular alternative eating habits (various vegetarian trends, fad diets).

In addition to individual consultation, group counseling is also possible. In the case of certain conditions and diseases, these are also preceded by an individual assessment. Please inquire for details!

3, PROCESS OF DIETARY COUNSELING:

  • We meet in person on the 1st occasion, when the nutritional anamnesis is taken (medical history, current complaints, symptoms, laboratory findings, detailed questioning of eating and lifestyle habits) and anthropometric examinations are performed ( body height, body weight measurement, body composition determination - body fat%, visceral fat, muscle%. Dietetic/nutrition-related diagnosis is then established and the goal of therapy determined.
  • The 2nd meeting will take place online. After creating the nutrition plan, I will make suggestions for incorporating the dietary requirements into your diet. In addition to verbal advice and practical instructions, I also provide written information materials.
  • During the following online check-up sessions, to assess your current condition, ask check-up questions, review your diet, analyze your diet diary, answer any questions you may have, and discuss difficulties experienced during the diet will take place. Due to the nature of the disease or complaint, it may be necessary to consult a doctor, to undergo additional tests, and to modify and refine the diet. The possibility of control is ensured until the set goal is reached.

The long-term effectiveness of diet therapy is based on the active cooperation of the patient and the dietician. According to the experience of the past years, there may be obstacles on the way to achieving the patient's goals, which I help to overcome, and when there is a favorable change, I encourage in order to achieve and maintain the result.
