The Pinarello XC Hardtail was born with Tom Pidcock and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot celebrating three world titles at the big moment, and they took the technology down to a lower price segment. The cut result speaks for itself. He wants to be one of the benchmarks in every XC race MTB, splicing it with something even more. It moves 100mm, but can also accommodate a 120mm fork - as well as being very light.
THE MOST IMPORTANT: WHAT MATERIAL IS IT MADE OF?
Carbon fiber fabrics can be grouped in two ways. We can categorize by tissue density and their types. There are classic crochet fabrics (e.g. 1K, 3K, 12K) and unidirectional fabrics.
The other grouping aspect is whether a carbon fiber fabric is high modulus, strong, or capable of high resistance. The former are very rigid and lightweight, the latter are extremely resistant and flexible. A lightweight, rigid and competitive frame cannot be built without the dominant use of the former! Without the latter, however, there is no frame production.
Pinarello works exclusively with TorayCa, Toray's premium fabric division, using fabrics manufactured by them and jointly conceived at all levels.
